Brian Whitted of Galloway Township pleaded guilty to strict liability for a drug related death and narcotics charges in connection to the 2018 fatal overdose of 59-year-old Anthony Tamburelli, according to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill.
Whitted also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute heroin with co-defendant Emery Chapman, and possession with intent to distribute heroin, Shill said.
Sentencing is on April 28.
On Dec. 17, 2018, Galloway police Tamburell dead at his home from a drug overdose, Shill said. A police investigation revealed that Whitted and Chapman conspired to distribute heroin and sold Tamburelli a fatal combination of heroin and fentanyl, the prosecutor said.
This is an investigation by the Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office with the assistance of the Galloway Township Police Department.
